Nobody teaches spray count, yet it decides whether you smell put together or like an elevator incident. The right number is not fixed - it moves with concentration, season and occasion.
The master table
| Situation | EDT | EDP | Parfum/Extrait |
|---|---|---|---|
| Office | 2-3 | 1-2 | 1 |
| Summer day | 2 | 1-2 | 1 |
| Fall/winter day | 4-5 | 3 | 2 |
| Date night | 3-4 | 2-3 | 2 |
| Club/event | 5-6 | 4 | 2-3 |
Concentration primer if needed: EDT vs EDP vs Parfum.
The placement multiplier
WHERE matters as much as how many: two sprays on pulse points project; the same two under clothing whisper. Clone-house juice (Lattafa, Armaf) typically performs one level stronger than its label - treat their EDPs as parfums for counting (their famous value cuts both ways).
The nose-blindness trap
By week two with a signature scent, YOU stop smelling it and start over-spraying. The fix is not more sprays - it is rotation, explained in why you cannot smell your own perfume.
The perfect dose: someone leaning in notices. Someone walking past does not.
FAQ
Is 10 sprays ever okay?
Only of an eau fraiche, only outdoors, only at your own risk. Ten of an amber EDP is a public event.
Do more sprays make it last longer?
Marginally - and they multiply projection first. For longevity, fix the base instead: the 7 real fixes.
One spray of something strong or three of something light?
For close quarters: one strong. For open air: three light. The compliments favor the first.
